LibrariesWest eBooks

The LibrariesWest eBooks service is now available to all library members as a 12 month pilot. The combined purchasing power of all five LibrariesWest authorities means that we can bring you a collection of more than 1000 titles to choose from across a range of fiction and popular non-fiction genres, with new titles added on a regular basis.

How does it work?

• Free to use. Borrow up to 3 at any one time.
• Choose how long you want to borrow it for, up to a maximum of 21 days (please note that due to licensing restrictions an eBook cannot be returned early).
• No overdue charges – eBooks automatically expire at the end of the loan period.
• Use with a wide range of eBook readers including Kobo, Nook, and Sony Reader. Unfortunately you will not be able to use this service with the Amazon Kindle. Here is a full list of compatible devices and applications.
• Reserve for free if a title is already on loan to someone else.

Download an eBook to your PC in 6 easy steps!

1. Go to the LibrariesWest eBook site and enter your library membership number and PIN (if you’re not already a member you can join online here).
2. Browse the site to find a title you would like to borrow and click on the cover image.
3. If the title is available to borrow, click on ‘Add to basket’.
4. Choose how long you would like to borrow the eBook for (up to a maximum of 21 days), and click on ‘Checkout’. The eBook will become available for you to download within a couple of minutes.
5. Click on the 'Manage Loans/Reservations' link and click 'Download'.
6. You will be prompted to download Adobe Digital Editions software if you don't already have it installed, otherwise you will be able to proceed directly to download the eBook.
